Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

The business lists hours on 4 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 amโ€“4 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Iโ€™ve thought about coming here for a while and today my husband and I finally made time to pay Aubrey Rose Tea Room a visit. Itโ€™s situated in downtown La Mesa. There was an ample amount of street parking but I know it can be harder to find parking on a weekend. All the little details were so charming. The service was pleasant, I felt well taken care of. The food was delicious and the tea was very good! I especially liked their house blend. The lighting and ambience is elegant and cozy. I was happy we opted to have tea inside. Itโ€™s not very loud, itโ€™s easy to have a conversation inside. They had tea already on the table when we got there (maybe because we were a bit late, but Iโ€™m not sure!) and we picked different pots to try as we finished each one. They brought a three tiered platter of food about 1/3 of the way through. We ordered mimosas as well because we were celebrating. Iโ€™d say itโ€™s very fairly priced. I came here with my husband, but it seems like it would be a fun third date spot or even a good place to bring a slightly older childโ€“ 5 and up maybe? (I was glad we went while our toddler was in daycare) Overall we had a very positive tea experience, thanks!

We held our wedding reception at AubreyRose Tea Room, and it was absolutely perfect in every way. When I first started wedding planning, I had no idea they could do wedding receptions โ€” and Iโ€™m so glad I reached out to ask, because it turned out to be the best decision. From the very first conversation, the owners (Missy and Heather) were incredible to work with. Their communication throughout the entire planning process was thoughtful, responsive, and reassuring. They welcomed us in to visit the space, patiently answered all of our questions, and walked us through layout options, menu accommodations, floral arrangements, music, and the overall flow. At every step, we felt heard and supported in what we wanted for our reception. One of the biggest surprises (and reliefs) was how reasonably priced AubreyRose was compared to other venues and vendors we considered. So much was already included โ€” tables, chairs, dรฉcor, place settings, staff, music, florals, and day-of tea and food service โ€” which meant we didnโ€™t have to coordinate or pay for a long list of outside vendors. Aside from a few signs, a card basket, and favors, everything else we needed was provided, and it made planning

Scheduled an afternoon tea to celebrate my best friends birthday. We were a little frazzled because we didnโ€™t know La mesa changed the parking lot to paid parking and we didnโ€™t bring coins so we had to find street parking. If you know a tea lover i highly recommend having them come here for afternoon tea! The place was decorated brightly and they offer different hats if youโ€™d like to wear them during tea time. Plenty of cute tea cups and all items needed for tea time for purchase. Our waitress was great, highly knowledgeable in the tea opens and great with suggestions. She stayed on top of keeping our teapots filled and moving us through the courses. I will definitely be back to try more teas and for the delicious accompaniments with the tea. I highly recommend the almond tea and loved all of the savory options.
